
Marta Stysiak
Marta Stysiak is a Polish cinematographer who graduated from the Polish Film School in Łódź. Her work spans over documentaries, features, and experimental films. Stysiak is a recipient of the Polish Contemporary Art Award TIDE and a scholarship holder in the field of film in 2020, bestowed by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture. In the same year, she was honored with a residency at Birth Rites Collection, King’s College London where she directed a feature documentary “Come Home,” co-produced by Birth Rites Collection with the generous support of Arts Council England. She is a documentary cinematographer known for her distinctive artistic perspective in capturing real-life narratives. With a passion for visual storytelling, she brings authenticity and depth to the world of non-fiction filmmaking. With a keen eye for detail and an innate ability to find beauty in the everyday, Stysiak’s work transcends traditional cinema, pushing the boundaries of documentary cinematography. She believes that each frame should be a canvas, allowing the essence of the subject to shine through, whether it’s in the bustling streets of a metropolis or the tranquil solitude of nature. Over the years, Stysiak has collaborated with award-winning directors and producers from social and environmental documentaries to intimate character studies. Stysiak is the author of photography for „Faces of Agata” awarded the Golden Hobble for The Best Polish Documentary at the Krakow Film Festival 2023 and nominated to Polish Film Awards Orły 2024. Currently working on her feature documentary The Perfect Woman. She is based in Warsaw.
